Generacion Suicida play catchy angular KBD style punk with dueling male/female vocals. They have also been bucketed in with surf punk, hardcore, and post-punk. The band was named after The Vicious song “Suicide Generation.”

Check out the new music video for “Nacidos”. This track is from their upcoming physical release of Regeneracion, The band’s first new album in four years. The album will be out at the end of October, on Symphony of Destruction and Doomtown Records. The art and animation were done by Monica Bussmann and Rodri.
About Generacion Suicida
The band hails from the Los Angeles area, South Central L.A., Koreatown, Anaheim, and Orange County.
The band started in 2010 as a 3 piece. The original band members were bored friends who were already heavily involved in the L.A. punk scene. They had been in some previous bands, like Rayos X, Asko, Astalkulo, and others. They also had and blog and videozine.
Generacion Suicida was started to be something different from the street punk and hardcore dominating the scene in 2010. Oddly, the initial reception was lackluster, with some not even considering it punk. However, that same uniqueness would allow the band to stand out and eventually amass a substantial following later on.
Lyrics and Singing in Spanish
They sing solely in Spanish, and the lyrics play around with topics of paranoia and alienation. Their songs talk about everything from love, depression, loneliness to oppression, police violence, gang violence, and drug addiction/coping.
They sing in Spanish to hold onto their culture, living in the face of constant US social pressure to conform and assimilate to the white-washed version of America. Often being seen as outsiders within their own country, where they lived all their lives, it is important to help build a space for their culture and language.
Generacion Suicida are anti-Nazis, anti-fascist, and anti-racism. (We are 100% aligned with all of that)
